Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment in the Hatchet film series. It chronicles Victor Crowley's ongoing adventures through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, as well as his violent murderous rampage. Kane Hodder stars as Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow and Rileah Vanderbilt plays Misty.
The film's main strength is the use of real-world special effects. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows for some truly terrifying moments to be recorded in the movie.
Kane Hodder stands out as an formidable character. The cast provides a solid performance. The dialogue is sufficiently campy and tongue-in-cheek for it to feel like a true '80s slasher movie at moments. There are some really funny moments that offer an entertaining contrast to the heartbreaking action.
Unfortunately, due to the budget being small (1 million dollars), many locations were duplicates from earlier films. The boat house in Hatchet 2 was only used once and the remainder of the footage seems (click now to see webpages) like it's been duplicated from earlier films. This can make it seem like it's all too familiar at times especially for people who've already watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2
Overall, Hatchet 3 was enjoyable, even though it felt like the previous installments in the series. It was filled with thrilling thrills and some entertaining performances from the actors.
